Eppendorf Scientific was first to market with a single block gradient thermal cycler, the Mastercycler® Gradient. This thermal cycler has the ability of performing tests over 12 separate temperatures at the same time across the single block within 20 degrees celcius. Theres is also a Mastercycler model offered without the gradient functionality. These thermal cyclers can hold 0.5/0.2 milliliter tubes, PCR plates, and cross-compatible personal memory cards. Currently, the competition has begun to understand the benefits which the gradient capabilities offer to the laboratory environment, motivating Eppendorf to discover new innovations to stand out from the rest.
Along with this revolutionary family of thermal cyclers, Eppendorf also offers their patented line of accessories, the MasterTaq tool kit, and Taq Polymerase. The MasterTaq kit allows for PCR enhancing which gives lab technicials increased repeatablity and robustness in their PCR reactions.
